The year 2019 was an awesome travel year for our family. In January we visited Red River, NM for a ski vacation. In April we visited Gulf Shores, Alabama to visit Gulf Island National Seashore. Late May and early June we were lucky enough to take an Alaskan cruise followed by three additional days visiting Olympic National Park & Whidbey Island. Then there was Disneyworld in October. We were blessed to have such memorable trips. Then 2020 came and the world and our travel habits changed drastically.
The last day of our trip to Alaska and the Pacific Northwest was spent at Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island northwest of Seattle. We only had one day to explore this treasure of a state park, wish we had more time to see it all. Read on to learn more about our day.
The last port of call on our Alaskan cruise was Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. This medium sized port city has a population of 80,000 making it ideal for travel offerings. We arrived at 5:00 P.M. and were scheduled to depart at 11:00 P.M. We had beautiful weather and a strong U.S. dollar so we were ready to shop!
